Hi Brickhouse fam! I’m Courtney and I have been teaching fitness classes for over five years. I am an AFAA Group Excercise Instructor, TurboKick Live Instructor, Les Mills BODYPUMP Instructor, and a Les Mills GRIT Coach. I also teach cycling here at Brickhouse 🙂
Before getting involved in group fitness, I stayed active through playing basketball. When that ended after high school, I had a hard time finding exercise that was enjoyable. It didn’t take long for me to gain a significant amount of weight. I was not happy with how I looked or felt. I decided to get out of my comfort zone (the elliptical) and try out some group fitness classes at my gym. Immediately, I was hooked! I loved the atmosphere and energy of working out with a group. After consistently participating in fitness classes that summer, I lost 30+ pounds and felt better mentally and physically. I decided I just had to become an instructor. I wanted to help people realize that exercise does not have to be a chore– it can actually be something to look forward to (in addition to improving your life in so many ways 🙂 !!
When I’m not teaching fitness classes, I work full time as a preschool adapted physical education teacher. It’s pretty much the best job ever, and I’m very lucky to love it as much as I do.
